Description:  This position is the step above a Service Technician and requires the knowledge/ability to perform the duties of a Service Technician.  The primary purpose of the Precision Ag Specialist will be to serve as the support person for our Sales Consultants and our Service Technicians. This position will be responsible for helping design, troubleshoot and oversee the installation and/or service/repair of our agricultural precision technology systems and spray equipment systems performed by the Service Technicians.


Duties:

  • Assist our Sales Consultants generate customer quotes by designing systems tailored to each customer and ensuring that all items are included and quoted accurately

  • Work with our Sales Consultants and Service Technicians to schedule customer installs

  • Ensure all necessary equipment and parts are on order and delivered by the start

  • Have all items ready to go each day for the technician’s projects

  • Help technician troubleshoot problems and provide hands on assistance when needed

  • Assess customer needs, communicate between customers and Service Technicians to resolve issues and to ensure that schedules are followed

  • Problem solve with customers, vendors, tech support and suppliers as needed

  • Maintain strict deadlines

  • Keep detailed records of system installations and support cases

  • Monitor inventory to ensure adequate stock of items that should be on hand

  • Report to the office daily at 7am (M-F)

  • General office tasks as needed


Desired skills/experience: This position requires someone with an expert knowledge of GPS automated steering systems, automated spray controllers and other aspects of precision agriculture. At least 3 years of general experience with precision agriculture required with a two year college degree or higher. Strong computer skills are a must. Customer service experience and working with Customer/Project Management software is preferred. Must be a fast learner, reliable, energetic, have detailed work ethic, and be adaptable to a growing and changing work environment.


Compensation: DOE, base plus performance, benefits including paid Holidays, PTO, Health/Dental coverage and 401k after initial probationary period.
